The Ice Pigging Project – Drinking Water Biofilms
Our client is a drinking water company in the Dutch province of South Holland. They produce drinking water for around 750,000 people and 7,500 companies and also manages the water supply system.
Over time sediment and bio-film tend to accumulate in drinking water pipes meaning that periodic cleaning is usually undertaken.
- Minimise customer disruption
- Remove bio-film sediment
After several successful pilot Ice Pigging trials, our client was very pleased. So much so, they decided to use Ice Pigging to clean the water network in this drinking water company in the Netherlands.
120,000m of PVC pipe was cleaned with random camera inspections being performed both before and after the operation to ensure the success of the cleaning process.
